줄거리

마녀들은 맥베스에게 장차 왕위에 오를 것이라는 예언을 하고, 이 예언을 들은 맥베스는 왕위에 대한 야욕에 사로잡히게 된다. 맥베스는 이에 양심의 가책을 느끼며 주저하지만, 아내는 그의 나약함을 꾸짖으며 살인을 부추긴다. 결국 맥베스는 던컨 왕을 살해하고 왕위를 찬탈한다.

그러나 원하던 왕의 자리에 올랐음에도 맥베스는 죄책감과 왕위를 빼앗길지도 모른다는 불안감에 시달리게 되고, 여기에 마녀의 예언을 들었을 당시 함께 있었던 동료 뱅코의 자손이 왕위에 오른다는 예언이 있었기 때문에, 암살자들을 보내 뱅코까지 죽이게 된다. 

마녀들은 맥베스에게 맥더프를 조심하라는 예언과 함께 "여자가 낳은 자는 결코 맥베스를 죽일 수 없으며, 버넘 숲이 던시내인 언덕으로 오기 전엔 맥베스가 망하지 않는다."는 예언을 남긴다. 이에 맥베스는 맥더프의 아내와 아이들을 죽이는 등 또다시 살인을 저지른다. 한편 던컨 왕의 살해 계획에 가담했던 맥베스의 아내는 몽유병과 신경쇠약에 시달리다 결국 숨을 거둔다. 맥베스는 맥더프와 싸우게 되고, 맥더프에게서 자신은 "여자에게서 태어난 것이 아니라 어미의 배를 가르고 나온 자"란 말을 듣는다. 절망에 빠진 맥베스는 힘없이 맥더프의 손에 죽음을 맞게 되고, 이후 던컨 왕의 첫째 아들인 맬콤이 왕위에 오른다.

나의 발제: 요즘 여러분의 소망 중 욕심과 관련되어 있는 것은 무엇인가요? (맥베스는 마음 속에 품었던 작은 소망이 욕심이 되고, 절제하지 못한 탐욕은 결국 죄로 이어져 파멸하는 개인의 모습입니다).

만약 제가 맥베스라면 과연 다르게 행동했을까요? 솔직히 저도 맥베스처럼 똑같이 행동할 것 같습니다. 맥베스 입장이라면 그것이 기회니깐요. 만약 제가 그 마녀의 예언을 무시했다면 아마 나중에 엄청난 후회를 할 것 같습니다. 저는 이 영화를 보며 많은 생각을 해보았는데 그저 맥베스가 욕심이 너무 과해서 저렇게 타락했을까라고 생각했지만 답은 이미 정해져 있었습니다. 맥베스가 아닌 다른 사람이었어도 타락했을 거라고 생각합니다. 마녀는 인간의 본질을 너무 잘 알고 그저 마녀는 맥베스를 타락 시키고 싶었던 것 같습니다. 하지만 이렇게 생각하실 수도 있습니다. 만약 맥베스가 마녀의 예언을 무시했다면 그저 평범한 삶을 살겠지 하고요. 하지만 마녀는 맥베스가 가장 원하는 왕의 자리인 것을 너무나도 잘 알고 있었고, 점점 맥베스를 나락 보냈습니다. 그러므로 여기선 맥베스의 운명이 정해져있다고 생각합니다.

4. 죄책감이 사람에게 어떻게 작용되는가? 나의 생각: 죄책감은 사람을 항상 불안과 괴로움을 나타낸다.

5. 탐욕은 나쁜것 인가? 나의 생각: 우선 탐욕의 의미는 지나친 욕심 이므로 욕심이 지니치면 당연히 나쁜것 이라고 생각합니다. 맥베스도 소망이 욕심으로 되고 욕심이 지나쳐 탐욕으로 전환 돼서 그렇게 파멸 한 것이라고 생각합니다

사는데 욕심이 없다면 왜 사는 걸까요. 우리는 그 욕심 어떨때는 그 욕심이 동기부여가 되기도 합니다. 우리가 원하는 것이 있다면 그것을 얻으려고 노력하죠. 하지만 그 '욕심' 이 넘으면 탐욕이 되고 탐욕이 지속 된다면 망할거라고 생각합니다. 맥베스도 그 탐욕 때문에 결국 죄로 이어져 파멸하죠. 항상 욕심은 적당해야 합니다!

Plot

The witches prophesy Macbeth that he will ascend to the throne in the future, and Macbeth becomes obsessed with his ambition for the throne. However, even though Macbeth became the king he wanted, he suffered from guilt and anxiety that he might be deprived of the throne, and because there was a prophecy that the descendants of his colleague Banco, who was with him when he heard the witch's prophecy, would ascend the throne, he sent assassins to kill Banco.

The witches prophesied Macbeth to watch out for Macduff, and said, "Anyone born by a woman can never kill Macbeth, and Macbeth is not ruined until he comes to the hill, downtown where the Burnham Forest is." leaves a prophecy. In response, Macbeth commits another murder, killing McDuff's wife and children. Meanwhile, Macbeth's wife, who was involved in the murder of King Duncan, dies after suffering from sleepwalking and nervous breakdown. Macbeth fights McDuff, and McDuff tells him that he was "not born of a woman but came out of his mother's belly." In despair, Macbeth dies helplessly at McDuff's hands, and later Malcolm, King Duncan's first son, takes the throne.
